Kirkby Stephen Hockey Club

On Saturday 3rd, Kirkby Stephen Ladies 1st team had their second league game, and took on Harrogate Ladies 1sts at home. With a shift in rules and regulations stipulated by the government and England Hockey, the players arrived changed and ready to begin their thorough warm up. The weather made it difficult to get the first touch, and stay on foot, but Harrogate managed to pressure the home side for the first 10 minutes, with the majority of the play in the home side's defensive half of pitch. Kirkby Stephen Hockey Club

Kirkby Stephen 1sts played a friendly against Carlisle 1sts in the lead up to the season ahead. After winning their friendly away at Garstang two weeks before, Kirkby Stephen began the game with a positive mindset. Carlisle challenged KS in the first half, making it difficult for home side to play their own game. After several attempts with some tremendous saves by Carlisle's keeper, Kirkby Stephen managed to score their first goal. [ 404 more words ]
